York and Gettysburg residents will be interested to know about the new drive train options on the RAV4. The LE and XLE packages offer the upgrade from FWD to the typical AWD system. The Adventure and Limited uses a torque vectoring system, which can disconnect the wheel that is spinning and add additional power to ones that have traction. If a hybrid model is purchased, the electric motors power all 4 wheels. The hybrid model also uses the 2.5-liter gas engine which sends power to the electric motors which drive the RAV4. It also puts out 16 more HP than using the gasoline version. The 2019 RAV4 Hybrid uses a CVT to send power to the wheels giving it a better fuel economy than the standard gasoline engine. It has an average of 39 MPG for city and highway combined. The price is also comparable to the gasoline-powered models.
